Nyla Adams

Nyla Adams, a native of Baltimore, Maryland, is a second year Scripps School of Journalism student at Hampton University. With a goal to be a respected modern-day activist, Nyla desires to build a career that allows her to address contemporary issues and advocate for social change while preserving cultural heritage through a variety of written, visual, and spoken media.

Nyla is a Dean’s List member, but her story isn't just about grades. She's a well-rounded student that participates in various aspects of college life. Nyla’s campus involvement spans from community service to leadership roles across campus.

You can find her lending her voice to the William R. Harvey Leadership Institute, advocating with the NAACP, or empowering others through programs like Black Girls Vote and College Girls. She's an ambassador for Hampton University as a member of the Student Recruitment Team. Driven by a passion to uplift marginalized voices, Nyla aspires to be a journalist who advocates for change, particularly for People of Color.
