Hey! My name is Rachel. I am studying Human Rights and Human Diversity at Laurier.
Being engaged with my community is extremely important to me. I find the more you dive into your community the more you learn about yourself and the world around you. I have volunteered or had placements with a wide range of different populations. I have volunteered with every age group which gives me such a profound appreciation for people no matter what part of life they are in. Some of the different populations I have volunteered with were newcomers, elderly people with dementia, people with nonverbal disabilities and many more! Honestly I love learning about anything to do with people. Every culture, struggle and individual person is extremely unique. No one fits into a box. Also, I have made a tiktok to bring awareness to mental illness with a focus on bipolar disorder as well as lesser known or talked about disorders.
