Zaakirah Ahmed

I am a final year English Literature and Psychology student. These are the two subjects I am most passionate about, so it is a dream come true to be double majoring in them!

My interests include topics of feminism, intersectionality, neurodivergence and disability. I am also interested in all things pop-culture such as celebrity news, and things that are trending within gen z culture. I am really interested in how pop-culture trends affect our everyday lives and speak to broader issues.

One of my favourite hobbies is writing, hence my position at HER Campus. I enjoy the process of coming up with ideas, doing intensive research and then creating a piece I am proud of. I also enjoy watching video essays on a variety of topics. I am an avid movie enjoyer, especially period drama's. I also enjoy reading. Some of my favourite authors include, but are not limited to; Jane Austen, Audrey Lorde, Maya Angelou, Virginia Wolf and Sylvia Plath. I enjoy a good South African or Nigerian novel as well. My latest hobby is making art. I love painting, especially mixed media art or acrylic paintings.
