There are life hacks… and then there are crazy AF life hacks that make you reevaluate your entire life.Â
Until today, I didn’t think anyone in the history of ever had looked at a condom and thought “wow, I wonder what else I could do with this.” But somehow, somebody somewhere thought that instead of purchasing a silicone beauty blender, they could fashion one out of things they already had: a sponge foundation blender and a condom.
I’ll admit, this is a way cheaper option: beauty blenders can cost over $20, and as a college girl, I do happen to have plenty of condoms laying around. This just makes sense. However, considering what I normally use condoms for, I’m not sure that I would ever want to put one on my face.
To help out the skeptics such as myself, beauty vloggers everywhere are making their own tutorials for this crazy beauty hack. Their biggest tip? Make sure to wash off any lubrication—that is definitely not something you want smeared in with your makeup (unless you’re into that sort of thing).
People who have tried this hack have said it’s just as good, if not better, than a silicone blender, because it helps get all the hard-to-reach areas (no comment).
Jeffree Star apparently filmed his own tutorial with Manny MUA testing out the condom method. The video is coming at us this weekend, so you better believe I’ll be watching that!
About to film a video with @MannyMua733 where we apply our foundation with a @beautyblender inside a CONDOM….

Although it sounds like this is a valid hack that really works, I’m still hesitant to try it myself. What if you are short a condom in a time of need, all because you used one for your makeup?!? On the other hand, for anyone with old-fashioned and overbearing mothers (i.e. me), you now have an excuse if she ever finds your condom stash: “I just use them to apply makeup, I swear!!”Â
What are your thoughts—would you ever try this crazy beauty hack?
