Best and Worst Tweets from International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day, which is recognized on March 8 every year, became a trending topic on Twitter earlier this month and invited some of the best and worst tweets from Twitter users and abusers.

This year marked the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day, a day dedicated to celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women around the world.

As you may know, March is Women’s History Month, and to honor its last day, I would like all the collegiettes™ to tweet about an amazing woman you know or aspire to be. Consider writing a few words to recognize the women who came before us and opened up opportunities that they could only dream about. Or just say a little something about any woman who has inspired or encouraged you to reach for something more.

Tweet your thoughts and tag it with #CollegiettesDay

So much can be said about women. Let’s make the best of it!

Best

#InternationalWomensDay to people who fought for gender equality. Because of you I have an education, and I salute you for that.

It appears that #InternationalWomensDay was also Feminist Coming Out Day. In case you were wondering: this is what a feminist looks like.

For all ladies, know that you’re special, beautiful, amazing, strong and worth it. #InternationalWomensDay

On #InternationalWomensDay a key point: girls’ education and women’s rights don’t just benefit women, but everybody!

Let’s love them respect them and give them equal opportunity. Women will do the world proud.

For me, every day is #InternationalWomensDay

Want to hear a joke? #InternationalWomensDay Teheeeheehee

“Women’s Day” is an Old Soviet Union Communist Propaganda Ploy #InternationalWomensDay http://t.co/Y

Now the thrill of #InternationalWomensDay is over, I think my slight #penisenvy might be returning. They just seem useful & quite good fun.

I heard a really great joke today: it’s called #InternationalWomensDay

I like #InternationalWomensDay. And everything. But tomorrow you’re in that kitchen!

#InternationalWomensDay. Because a day for men would be incredibly too sexist. F—k women’s rights, they’re just abusing it now.

So collegiettes™, after seeing some of the best and worst tweets from International Women’s Day, remember to recognize the women who have influenced your life by tweeting about them and tagging #CollegiettesDay.

Let’s try make this a trending topic to honor and celebrate the last day of Women’s History Month.
