What does your current job entail? Is there such a thing as a typical day?
JS:Â Running Schique Skincare, public speaking on neurohormones and entrepreneurship, creating content and filming for wellness brand Dr. Jacqueline Schaffer.
What is the best part of your job?
JS:Â Learning something new every day and working with my team.
What was your first entry-level job in your field and how did you get it?
JS: Non-traditional, as I just became a doctor. That was my first job!
What words of wisdom do you find most valuable?
JS: “The whole secret of a successful life is to find out what is one’s destiny to do, and then do it.” – Henry Ford
What is one mistake you made along the way and what did you learn from it?
JS: I worked with one vendor and didn’t realize how important it was to have them sign an NDA. The best thing you can do when working with new third parties is to make sure you always have them sign NDAs, intellectual property protection and a termination clause.
What has been the most surreal moment of your career thus far?
JS:Â The minute I became an international best selling author.
What do you look for when considering hiring someone?
JS: Organizational skills, honesty and punctuality.Â
What advice would you give to a 20-something with similar aspirations?
JS: I am going to be so real with this answer. If you are considering creating a product and you are not an influencer or celebrity, then make sure the product costs less than 20 dollars and that your COGS (cost of goods sold) are extremely low to make a profit. Build your name first by blogging, contributing to your community or specializing in one particular area.
What’s the one thing that’s stood out to you the most in a resume?
JS: When a person can speak multiple languages, they are better communicators and that’s half the battle in most businesses. Communication is key!
