Congratulations, collegiate! You’ve spent months working on your résumé and cover letter, nailed the interview and have finally landed the summer internship of your dreams. However, there is still one more application to fill out: your housing application!

Wait, what did we just say? The summer housing genie doesn’t take care of that? Unfortunately no, but Her Campus has created the next best thing. With this guide to housing in the most popular cities for summer internships, you’ll easily find a place to relax after a long day of interning or a night out in the city!

New York, NY

Columbia University

Location: East Campus building at Columbia’s Morningside Heights campus Dates: June 2—Aug. 3, 2013 Types of Residences: Only single rooms are available for a 5 week stay, but both single and double rooms are offered for the 7 and 9 week periods. All residences are suite style.

New York University

Location: Manhattan, specific location depends on type of residence Dates: May 27–Aug. 17, 2013

Types of Residences: Two styles of one- and two-bedroom residence halls: traditional (suite-style, no kitchen, meal plan required, 2 out of the 3 halls have air conditioning) and apartment-style (shared kitchen, meal plan optional, all air-conditioned). Traditional residence halls are all located in the immediate vicinity of the main NYU campus while apartment-style residence halls are located throughout Manhattan, including Union Square, SoHo and Gramercy Park.

Northeastern University 

Location: On Northeastern’s campus in the Back Bay neighborhood and on Boston’s Avenue of the Arts Dates: June 2—Aug. 1o, 2013 Types of Residences: Northeastern offers both single and double occupancy accommodations within a shared apartment or suite-style setting of four to six interns. The more expensive, “enhanced” housing option guarantees a common living area and air conditioning, two amenities not guaranteed in the “standard” housing package.

Los Angeles, CA

There are limited housing options available through LA’s local universities, but the UCLA Community Housing Office allows you to search sublet and roommate listings in the Los Angeles area.

San Francisco, CA

The Monroe Residence Club, located in the Pacific Heights neighborhood, includes breakfast and four-course dinners served Monday through Saturday. The Kenmore Residence Club, located atop Cathedral Hill, provides the same dining options.
