With two of the early primaries out of the way, the 2016 presidential race is moving at a rapid pace. The preliminary results don’t affect you, though — no, you decided on your dream candidate a long time ago: Bernie Sanders. You volunteer for his campaign, talk to your family and friends about him, post about him on social media, and more. You feel the Bern… especially if you can relate to the following:
1. You own way too many Bernie shirts
…and you have more than one of each kind.
2. Actually, just too much Bernie merchandise in general
Stickers, buttons, hats — you name it!
3. Your Facebook timeline is full of Bernie memes and articles
Even if some of them are absolutely ridiculous.
4. You’re constantly having to explain to what democratic socialism actually means
Please stop comparing it to communism. Please… just stop.
5. You cannot talk about the Iowa Caucus without getting upset
A coin flip? Really?
6. You’ve used Tinder to advocate for Bernie
Oh, you’re voting for Trump? Should’ve swiped left.
8. “Political Revolution” has become a common phrase for you
As well as the phrase, “government of the people, by the people, for the people.”
9. You want nothing more than a Sanders/Warren ticket
Elizabeth Warren, we need you!
10. …or at least Warren’s official endorsement
Unless, you know, she’s waiting to be announced as his VP.
11. You proudly brag about Bernie’s record breaking fundraising efforts
Because it’s important that his donations are coming from regular people.
12. You’ve met some of the best people when volunteering for Bernie
And you now have tons of new friends all over the country.
13. You’re constantly being challenged as a feminist because you’re not voting for Hillary
*whispers* “Voting for a candidate solely based on their gender is actually anti-feminist.”
14. You know Bernie will remain consistent on his views
He’s stuck with the same messages for over 40 years.
15. You’ve teared up while watching Bernie speak
He’s just so inspiring.
16. You know he’s the next President of the United States of America
FEEL THE BERN.
