Accidental Alcohol Poisoning to Blame for Amy Winehouse’s Death, Coroner Says

Months after the death of British singer Amy Winehouse, a coroner has finally released a report stating her official cause of death.

According to reports, Coroner Suzanne Greenaway declared Winehoues’s untimely death a result of accidental alcohol poisoning.

“The unintended consequence of such potentially fatal levels (of alcohol) was her sudden and unexpected death,” Greenaway said.

The singer, who struggled publicly with drug and alcohol addictions, was found dead in her home in London on July 23. She was 27.

Pathologist Suhail Baithun stated that Winehouse’s blood alcohol level at the time of her death was over five times the legal limit for driving.
