Amy Schumer revealed on Monday that she and her husband Chris Fischer are expecting their first child — but that’s not all the comedian said when making the announcement.Â
Instead, Schumer teased the news by first posting an Instagram photo in which her and Fischer’s heads were photoshopped onto the bodies of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who recently announced they were expecting a child. In the post, Schumer directed her followers to journalist Jessica Yellin’s page, which featured a Notes app screenshot with the pregnancy announcement, though it was buried under a list of candidates Schumer’s endorsed for the upcoming midterm elections.

Schumer later posted the screenshot on her own Instagram and Twitter. Considering she has millions of followers, and that her pregnancy announcement would be covered by numerous outlets, the reveal was undoubtedly clever.Â
“Chris and I are thrilled and almost positive he’s the father. I look forward to competing with Markle every step of the way,” Schumer told The Los Angeles Times.Â
The comedian has always been open about her left-leaning political views, especially when it comes to gun laws. Just last month, she was arrested for protesting the confirmation of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.Â
Hopefully her announcement will have a similar result to Taylor Swift’s recent political post.Â
