Amy Sherman-Palladino Isn’t Promising Us More ‘Gilmore Girls’

After waiting almost ten years, we were blessed with four new episodes of Gilmore Girls this past week, but fans are already desperate for more.

Given that no amount of episodes will probably ever fill our insatiable desire to hear the Gilmores’ pop culture references or finally find out who Rory ends up with, it is not surprising that followers of the show are already asking the series’ creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino, if this is really the end.

The showrunner admitted to The Hollywood Reporter that a decision has not been made yet.

“We really had a very specific journey in our minds and we fulfilled the journey,” Sherman-Palladino said. “So to us, this is the piece that we wanted to do.”

She is aware of the growing curiosity, but she isn’t promising anything. She continued, “And the whole thought about, ‘Is there more, is there more, is there more?’ — this has to go out into the universe now. We’ve got to put this to bed.”

But of course, just like in her writing, Sherman-Palladino never fully closes a window of opportunity. So she added, “And then whatever happens, happens.”

If there is destined to be more, please don’t make us wait nearly a decade again. We need more Jess Mariano in our lives.
