The TLDR Version Of Ariana Grande’s Dating History

If you told me that Ariana Grande’s love life hasn’t been on your mind lately, then I’d say you’re lying. From splits with now ex-husband Dalton Gomez to sitting with Andrew Garfield, and then possibly dating her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater, she’s managed to shock us almost every single day this July.

Twitter’s latest obsession isn’t with the Slater drama, it’s with Grande’s whole dating history, and some users are labeling her as a serial cheater. But is there any merit to these claims, especially when it takes two people to cheat?

Grande’s list of exes has always been legendary, she even mentioned them in her song “Thank U, Next.” Maybe there have been rumors of cheating here and there throughout the years, but now it seems like she might be unfairly labeled as a home wrecker. Is it a good look if your partner hops from his ex onto you? Definitely not, but I also don’t think she’s necessarily to blame for those situations.

While we can all make our own assumptions of whether Grande is a serial cheater, it’s best if we look at the facts before jumping to conclusions. I took a deep dive into Grande’s dating history so you don’t have to, and here’s what I learned.

Jai Brooks

For many GenZers, Grande’s relationship with Brooks was the first time we ever heard about her dating life. Brooks is labeled by IMDb as being an actor and producer but is better known for being a member of The Janoskians, a YouTube comedy group from Australia.

Grande and Brooks dated from August 2012 to October 2013, but Brooks accused Grande of cheating on him with Nathan Sykes, Us Weekly reported. Grande denied the claims, and they dated again briefly from May 2014 to August 2014.

Nathan Sykes

This was a smoother relationship than the Grande-Brooks saga. The two dated from August 2013 to December 2013, and were very quiet about their split. The most Grande said about Sykes, who was a member of The Wanted, was that they were friends, E! News reported.

Big Sean

I’m not going to lie, this couple was a personal favorite of mine; I thought they looked so good together! Unfortunately, all good things come to an end, but the cheating rumor in this relationship wasn’t that Grande cheated on him. Allegedly, Naya Rivera caught Big Sean cheating on her with Grande in his and Rivera’s home, according to Rivera’s book Sorry Not Sorry, Cosmopolitan reported.

I think it’s important to mention two things here though: A. Big Sean shouldn’t have engaged with Grande while still with Rivera and B. There have been multiple rumors of Big Sean cheating on various partners. He’s also part of the problem in his relationships.

Ricky Alvarez

Alvarez was Grande’s backup dancer, which is how the two met, Seventeen Magazine reported. Alvarez also had the shadiest line in Grande’s “Thank U, Next” song, where she said, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh.” Who knows what she meant, but I think the entire world took it as being exceptionally shady.

Mac Miller

This pairing is everyone’s favorite for so many different reasons; Miller and Grande came out as a couple at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards and split in May 2018, just four months before Miller died of an accidental overdose. Grande still honors her relationship with Mac today, and celebrated the 10-year anniversary of their song “The Way.”

Pete Davidson

The Grande-Davidson dynamic was a literal whirlwind and started with another cheating scandal. Just a literal day after breaking up with Cazzie David, Davidson had taken to social media to reveal he was dating Grande, E! News reported. Davidson and Grande’s first photo together was taken at Harry Potter World, which is also the location of Davidson and David’s first date together.

In my opinion, it’s exceptionally icky to break up with your girlfriend and then immediately post pictures of your new one, but who knows how much involvement Grande had in Davidson’s decisions regarding his relationship?

Mikey Foster

Foster and Grande were linked from August 2019 to March 2020, just before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The two were friends for years before dating, and Foster served as a co-producer on Grande’s hit singles “Thank U, Next” and “7 Rings,” but that’s all we know about their relationship.

Dalton Gomez

We conclude our list with Gomez, Grande’s now ex-husband. The two met in January 2020 after Gomez, a realtor, helped Grande find her new house, and started publicly dating in May 2020.

We’re still not sure what happened at the end of their marriage… but I guess that brings us back to Slater, although their relationship hasn’t been confirmed by either of them yet.

Grande is certainly at the center of multiple cheating rumors lately, but where’s that same energy for the men involved? Besides, a woman can’t be labeled as a homewrecker if the man just stayed faithful to his SO.
