Ariana Grande Might Be Dating This ‘Wicked’ Costar & Twitter Doesn’t Know How To Feel

The whole internet exploded when the news broke that Ariana Grande was no longer with her now ex-husband Dalton Gomez. Fans realized something was up after the singer was photographed at Wimbledon without her wedding ring alongside Bridgerton star, Jonathan Bailey and Gen Z favorite Andrew Garfield. Plus, fans also realized that the coupleā€™s wedding photos had been taken off her Instagram, which isnā€™t exactly a good sign. Now, there are some rumors that Grande has moved on and is dating her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater ā€” and Twitter is obviously losing their minds.

On July 20, TMZ reported that the new lovebirds both waited to get together until they separated from their partners. PEOPLE also corroborated the news, with a source saying that “Ariana and DaltonĀ separated in January, she and Ethan recently began dating, and he is separated from his wife.” Her Campus reached out to both Grande’s and Slater’s teams for comment, but did not hear back at the time of publication.

But first, who is Ethan Slater? The actor is best known for his role as Spongebob Squarepants in Spongebob Squarepants: The Musical, which got him a Tony Award nomination and a Drama Desk Award. He is playing Boq in Wicked, who falls in love with Arianaā€™s character Glinda, the good witch. I guess you could say that art imitates lifeā€¦ or something like that.Ā

But hereā€™s the tea:Ā  Slater is married. Or at least, was. Nothing has been confirmed or denied yet, but his personal Instagram is still full of pictures of him and his wife (plus their son!). His wife Lilly Jay, is his high school sweetheart, and the pair married in 2018. So, who is right here: Twitter or someone else?

If you listen closely, you can hear the Broadway girlies screaming.Ā

There are definitely some conflicting reports, though.

Some Ethan Slater fans do not appreciate this slander.

However, some fans are in denial… that is, until either party confirms it.
