This new music Friday is ~huge~ for Arianators: Ariana Grande dropped live performances of her songs “Honeymoon Avenue” and “Daydreamin” in honor of the 10th anniversary of her debut album Yours Truly on Aug. 25. After all these years, Ari proved she’s still got it as she showcased her stunning vocals while a string orchestra and band played along. Naturally, fans flooded social media with their reactions, and for most, the nostalgia is very real.
Grande first announced her Yours Truly live recordings on Aug. 19 in an Instagram post that immediately went viral. Now that she’s released the first two live recordings, fans can’t keep their cool. The live performances transported many back to the album’s original release in 2013, a time when Ari was just a Nickelodeon sweetheart kickstarting her music career. Grande has since come very far in her career, but this new release brought Arianators back a decade ago, when life was simpler.
As someone who has followed Grande’s musical journey since the beginning, I plan on making these live performances my entire personality for the next few days — and I know I won’t be the only one. X (or should I say Twitter) is already filling up with posts from fans who love these new performances. Some are even getting emotional remembering that it’s been 10 years since Yours Truly graced our ears for the first time. (FWIW, Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus also dropped new music on Aug. 25, so fans might as well be back in 2013 right now.)
As soon as Grande released the first two live performances of Yours Truly, fans jumped onto social media to share their reactions. And as expected, many couldn’t hide their emotions.
And I wasn’t lying when I said people are already making Yours Truly their entire personality.
Some are even pointing out that Ari just reminded the world how incredibly talented she is. Like I’ve always said, Grande is and always will be ~that girl~.
But fans aren’t the only ones showing Grande some love on her Yours Truly (deluxe) release. WICKED The Musical congratulated Ari — who will play Glinda in the live-action film — on the album’s release in a post shared to their IG Story.
Can I be the first to advocate for more live album recordings from Ari? At this point, it’s only right. Luckily for fans, she’ll be releasing more Yours Truly live recordings over the next few days. Grande even has a merch capsule coming out, too! Oh, what a time to be alive.
