Ariana Grande Will Be Named an Honorary Citizen of Manchester

In the panic that ensued after the bombing at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, there were reactions of distress, anger and sorrow around the world. But Manchester and Ariana stood strong.

Since the attack, the pop star has visited injured concertgoers at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and raised millions at her One Love Manchester benefit concert. Manchester victims and people from around the world were strengthened by Ariana’s response to overcome fear with love.

In light of her “noteworthy contributions” to the Manchester community and her efforts to promote unity, Manchester city council leader Sir Richard Leese told BBC that Ariana will be named “an honorary Mancunian.” She will be the first honorary citizen not from the Greater Manchester area, Cosmopolitan reports.

I can’t think of anyone who deserves this honor more.
