This season’s Bachelor, Arie Luyendyk Jr., narrowed his search for love down to Lauren and Becca, before proposing to Becca in Peru. She said yes, and they walked off into the sunset. Usually, this is where The Bachelor ends, but on Monday night, America got to watch Arie break up with Becca in a painful and unedited moment of television, that quite frankly, should not have been televised.
After the break-up with Becca, Arie rekindled his romance with Lauren in January, and on last night’s After the Final Rose special, Arie got down on one knee and proposed to Lauren on camera and in front of the studio audience. She said yes.

Now, the happy couple is sharing all of their excitement with People. The magazine is reporting that Arie and Lauren have already set a date for their impending nuptials, which they hope will happen this year. And rest easy Bachelor fans, they are open to a televised wedding!
Arie also offered a reflection on his wild finale to People. “Love is not always perfect. Everyone finds each other in a different way,” he said. “It’s not always a fairy-tale, but as long as Lauren and I have, each other, we’re happy.”
Even with all of the drama surrounding their road to love, Arie and Lauren seem very happy and in love. I wish them all the best.Â
