Bacon and Hot Dogs Can Increase Your Risk of Cancer

The World Health Organization has said processed meat, such as hot dogs, bacon and sausage, can increase your risk of cancer by a pretty significant margin, Time reports. And unprocessed red meat is also likely to cause the disease. Take a second to process all that.

The International Agency for Research on Cancer has classified processed meat as “cacinogenic to humans,” which puts it in the same category as tobacco. Meanwhile, red meat, like beef and pork, is associated with colon cancer, pancreatic cancer and prostate cancer. Great. This doesn’t exactly bode well for late-night bacon cheeseburgers or hungover breakfasts with plenty of grease.

After the World Health Organization released this information, CNN reported the many reactions on Twitter, from vegetarians lording their superiority over everyone to meat lovers swearing they wouldn’t let this information keep them from bacon.

Will this information change your eating habits, collegiettes?
