The genius marketing, countless brand collaborations, and even the opportunity to rent the Barbie Dreamhouse IRL, the Barbie movie is already too much for me to handle. Something I was not prepared for, though, is the cast of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie totally slaying the pink carpet last night at the premiere. (Yes, a pink carpet).Â
The cast of the movie is amazing, the soundtrack is out of this world, and the looks from the pink carpet were beyond our wildest dreams. The star-studded cast did not disappoint and went all out for the premiere. Oh, did I mention that the people on the Barbie soundtrack were also there and looked so good?! This movie is taking over the world and I can’t wait to go over some of the best looks from the premiere on July 9.
- Margot Robbie
-
We have to start with Ms. Barbie herself. Margot Robbie could not have been cast better for the role of Barbie and her look last night was a total serve.Â
Despite Barbie living in a world full of pink, she also had some looks with darker colors, which is what Robbie channeled on the carpet last night. Robbie wore a stunning custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture black sequin dress that was inspired by the 1960s Barbie’s Solo in the Spotlight outfit.
- Ryan GoslingÂ
-
Ryan Gosling was channeling major “Ken-ergy” on the pink carpet in his blush pink suit. He also wore an “E” necklace for his partner, Eva Mendes. (We are crying. This is everything).Â
- Greta Gerwig
-
Of course, this movie would not be possible without the incredible director, Greta Gerwig. Gerwig was wearing hot pink and was channeling major business Barbie. Or, for all those working 9-5s, she was giving corporate America Barbie.Â
- Dua Lipa
-
Dua Lipa (aka “Dula Peep”) has some of the best red carpet looks, IMO. Her song “Dance The Night” is featured on “Barbie: The Album,” and this dress is giving the lyrics to that song.Â
- Shay Mitchell
-
Or should I say “Slay Mitchell?” Shay Mitchell was giving major vintage Barbie vibes in her gorgeous dress. Also, did I mention Mitchell’s brand BĂ©is has a collaboration with the Barbie move?!Â
- Issa Rae
-
Madame President Barbie looks chic yet professional in her bright pink fit. TBH, if we lived in a world where Barbie ruled the world, I think a lot of our issues would go away.Â
- Alix earle
-
My girl Alix Earle looked classy in this butter-yellow dress. Honestly, I’m shocked she didn’t wear pink, but this dress was an amazing choice. Well done, Alix.Â
- Liv Morgan
-
Turns out, Barbie can do everything. She can even be an American professional wrestler! Liv Morgan, who is signed to WWE, pulled up to the premiere in a classic Barbie look paired with her WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion title on her shoulder.Â
- Simu Liu
-
Ken #2 is serving. Simu Liu wore a powder blue suit which sets him apart from Ken, who of course wore pink. But, he’s still slaying.Â
- Michael Cera
-
Michael Cera is my #MCM forever and always. He looks great — even if his character is “just” Alan, he’s #1 in my heart.Â
I don’t know about you, but now I have a lot more inspo for my Barbie movie fit. Can this movie come out any faster?!
