Being Clean

Hey there!

How is the weekend going for everyone!? I started mine off great!! First, I managed to get an A!!! on my Statistics mid term! Hollaaa! Second, I ran my first 7k race this morning and it went amazingly well! A 7k is about 4.34mi actually (last post I said 4.31). I think I finished in about 43 minutes and I felt AMAZING
This is coming from a girl who 4 months ago thought running for 10 minutes would be torturous! Trust me, YOU CAN DO IT! I was able to build up my running distance with the C25K program. It really does work! However, I could not last if it wasn’t for my music. Here are some songs I cannot run without!

  • “Start A Fire”– Ryan Star
  • “Tonight I’m Love You”- Enrique Iglesias
  • “All I Ever Wanted”- Basshunters
  • “Let the Feelings Go”– Anna Grace
  • “Heaven” (Techno Remix)- Dj Sammy
  • “Mother, We Just Can’t Get Enough”- New Radicals

Today I wanted to talk about the importance of clean eating. In the past, when I dieted, I would eat 100 calorie packs and frozen dinners and a lot of low-calorie, packaged foods. Now, if these goods are staples in your diet, I am in no way criticizing you. All I am saying is this time around, I am focusing on putting healthy foods into my body such as lots of veggies, fruits and whole grains. For my three main meals, I try to eat as clean as possible. For my snacks, I do allow myself packaged foods because I love me some Triscuits or Fiber One Bars! I am just warning you all to stay away from foods where the ingredient list is SUPER long and contains so many ingredients you cannot pronounce! We are all on a journey to become healthier, so lets feed our bodies with the best that is out there.

Like I said above, there are a few man-made products that I will not cut out of my diet. These include:

  • Gummy fruit snacks– for when you just need a quick grab and go snack
  • Oroweat Sandwich Thins– These enable me to have a hearty sandwich that isn’t 85% bread, 15% toppings
  • Fiber One Bars– These are SOO good. They taste amazing and are loaded with fiber, which helps keep you regular and full longer!
  • Triscuits/Corn Nuts/Crackers- I love crunchy carbs! I allow myself to eat the healthiest versions possible because they are great with cheese for an afternoon snack! Corn nuts are great because the only ingredients are salt and corn!
  • Dreyer’s Snack Size Cups– If I really need a dessert and I am craving ice cream, I go for these. Sure they may not be incredibly healthy, but they are perfectly portioned so I don’t over eat and I am satisfied!

In SELF’s Jump Start Diet, they give you great meals filled with healthy, natural ingredients that keep you full and are good for you! I plan on having the Homemade Pizza for lunch!

Keep up the great work I know you guys are doing and let me know what’s on your mind. Got any great work out songs?

Stay FFF!
