We aren’t all lucky enough to stand in a room full of beautiful and powerful women of color—but Beyoncé definitely is. Bless Bey, because she just released an official music video to “Sorry” and it’s everything that we could have hoped for. Not only is it the ultimate hate song to all the cheating men out there, it’s also empowering AF.
The video begins with stunning poetry by Warsan Shire, and features a cameo by Serena Williams, because only the best for Bey. We’re just thrilled that this is her next single, since we can’t get enough of the infamous “Becky with the good hair.” Not to mention that “Sorry” holds some of Bey’s best lyrics.
“Middle fingers up / Put them hands high / Wave it in his face / Tell ’em boy bye” she sings in the perfect show of IDGAF to all the unfaithful men of the world. Shot in black and white, she and the other women shoot pissed looks at the camera, giving the unspoken signal that they are way above anybody who doesn’t treat them the way they deserve. The next time a man does us wrong, we know Bey will be there to back us up.
