Everyone’s Wondering Why Beyoncé Was Late To The Grammy Awards

Beyoncé was nominated for nine Grammy awards during the 65th Annual Grammy Awards but didn’t even have the chance to walk the red carpet. That’s right, Beyoncé was so late to the Grammys that she didn’t even get to accept her award for Best R&B Song “CUFF IT,” presented by fresh EGOT winner Viola Davis.

Song collaborator Nile Rodgers accepted it on her behalf, which tied her for having the most Grammys in the show’s history. Of course, fans and Grammys attendees were scratching their heads wondering where Beyoncé could possibly be. It turns out, the stars, they’re just like us, and the RENAISSANCE artist is reported to be stuck in traffic.

Even Lizzo was stunned when Trevor Noah incorrectly said the singer was in the room during his host bit.

Naturally, many fans were hoping for her arrival, and were making memes to pass the time.

When Bey finally arrived, it turns out that she was actually late due to traffic. But, if I’m being honest, icons can never *actually* be late. After all, “a queen is never, late, everyone else is simply early.”
