Beyoncé’s highly-anticipated Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé was released on Dec. 1, and it’s already taken movie theaters around the world by storm. As soon as the film debuted, fans flocked to theaters to see the singer’s history-making Renaissance World Tour play out on the big screen. I don’t know about you, but my FYP on TikTok has been filled with videos of people lining the aisles in theaters to sing and dance along to the songs performed during the Renaissance World Tour. To say this movie has dominated box offices would be an understatement.
While many Beyoncé fans have been enjoying Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé in theaters, others can’t help but wonder if the movie will ever be on streaming. While it hasn’t officially been confirmed if the film will be available to stream at a later date, there’s a good chance it will be.
If you’ve been a longtime fan of Queen Bey, then you probably know that she’s no stranger to turning her live concerts into films. Back in 2019, Beyoncé’s Homecoming documentary, which followed her performance at the 2018 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, debuted on Netflix and it’s still available to stream today.
Although plans for Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé to be released on streaming remain under wraps, there’s a good chance Beyoncé could follow in Taylor Swift’s footsteps and bring this film to On Demand, so fans can watch it in the comfort of their own homes.
ICYMI, on Nov. 27, Swift announced that her Eras Tour movie will be available to rent on demand beginning Dec. 13 — just two months after the film premiered in theaters.
If Beyoncé follows suit, that means Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé could be available to stream in late January or early February. Until we get an official word on whether Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé will be coming to streaming services, though, we’ll just keep enjoying the movie in theaters for the time being.
The “Heated” singer first announced Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé on Oct. 2, following the tour’s last show in Kansas City. After Beyoncé unveiled her plans to bring the tour to the big screen, fans didn’t waste time getting their hands on immediate ticket pre-sales at major theaters like AMC, Regal, and Cinemark.
According to AMC, the film will be shown on Thursdays through Sundays for a minimum of four weeks, so fans still have some time to catch it. In North America, ticket prices for the film begin at $22, excluding taxes. Tickets are accessible across a wide range of movie theaters in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
It might be a while before we learn if Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé is coming to streaming, so until then, I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed because I, for one, need to live out my Renaissance fantasy at home.
