Former Saturday Night Live cast member Bill Hader has made America laugh once again. In the first of a four-episode Weekend Update: Summer Edition series, Hader returned to his roots and impersonated Anthony Scaramucci, the former White House communications director whose wife recently filed for divorce. During his 11 days in the position, he missed the birth of their son and congratulated his wife via text message.
In the three-minute segment, Hader FaceTimed into the show simply because he heard his name. Hader opened the video chat with a grand introduction. “It’s me, Anthony Scaramucci. The Mooch!” he said. “When I hear my name three times, I appear like a goomba Beetlejuice.”
The scene certainly took a hilarious turn when Hader compared Scaramucci to cocaine. “You know how you miss me. I’m like human cocaine,” he said. “You gotta little bump of me, I made you feel excited, but I was out of your system too quick. And now that I’m gone you’re all depressed and edgy, and you’re trying to figure out how to score some more Scaramucci.”
I think Hader can add Scaramucci to his long list of other fantastic celebrity impressions, including Al Pacino, Charlie Sheen and Clint Eastwood. I’ve already set my DVR to tape next week’s episode.
