Yes, you can still get homesick when your dad is a world-famous soccer star and your mom is a former Spice Girl.
According to Teen Vogue, Brooklyn Beckham, Victoria and David Beckham’s oldest son, is leaving NYC’s Parsons School of Design to move back to the United Kingdom due to homesickness. Brooklyn had spent the last year studying photography at the art school and made the decision to return home after completing his first year.
Being far from home had its challenges, but British Vogue reports that “in moving to New York, Brooklyn was afforded some space away from being Victoria and David’s son and could embrace student life.” And while the reports of homesickness may be true, The Sun is hinting that an opportunity to work with a famous photographer could have been part of what lured Brooklyn back home.
“He hasn’t quit, he’s just deferred his place so he can do an internship back in the UK. He was offered work with a prestigious photographer and couldn’t say no,” a source said.
Brooklyn has not commented on the move but did recently share Instagram posts with the caption, “Missing Wales” and “Love you Mum.”
If Brooklyn did return to the UK for an internship, congrats! That is a big accomplishment and something to be proud of. But, if he went home because he was homesick, that is also okay. Almost everyone will experience a form of homesickness at some point in their life, and if moving back home is what Brooklyn needs to do to take care of himself, good for him! I wish him all the best.
