Cardi B is Not Here for Trump & the Government Shutdown

As the partial government shutdown — the longest in U.S. history — enters its fourth week, Cardi B is speaking out and encouraging people to take action.

“Hey y’all, I just wanted to remind you because it’s been a little over three weeks,” Cardi said in an Instagram video. “Trump is now ordering — as in summoning — federal workers to go back to work without getting paid.”

Before anyone could undermine her point by saying that the government also shut down during the Obama administration, Cardi explained the difference between what happened in 2013 and what’s happening now. “Now, I don’t wanna hear y’all motherf—kers talking about, ‘Oh, but Obama shutdown the government for 17 days. Yeah, bi—h! For healthcare,” she said. “So your grandma could check her blood pressure!”

She continued, “I know a lot of you don’t care because you don’t work for the government or you probably don’t even have job, but this sh—t is really f—king serious
Our country is in a hellhole right now, all for a f—king wall. And we really need to take this serious. I feel like we really need to take some action; I don’t know what type of action because this is not what I do, but bi—h, I’m scared.”

Cardi was referencing President Trump’s proposed border wall, which he and Democrats continue to clash over. The government shut down as a result of their inability to compromise, and now, 800,000 federal workers are without pay. Then, on Tuesday, the Trump administration asked some 50,000 employees to return to work — without pay.

Cardi has been critical of Trump in the past. In another recent video she said, “You promised these f—king racist rednecks that you was gonna build the wall, but you know that was impossible. But they voted for you and you promised them this s—t so now you have to do it.”

Oh, and she also called him a ‘clout chaser.’ “
