Fans were ecstatic when they found out that Cardi B would be joining Bruno Mars for the North American leg of his 24K Magic Tour starting September 7. But, according to Popsugar, the “Bodak Yellow” singer announced on social media that she made the decision to not tour with Bruno after all.
In a July 26th message posted to her Instagram, Cardi wrote, “As of today I’ve decided I won’t be joining Bruno on his tour this fall. I thought that after giving birth to my daughter that 6 weeks would be enough time for me to recover mentally and physically. […] I think I underestimated this whole mommy thing.”
Cardi continued by writing, “Not only am I just not ready physically, I’m not ready to leave my baby behind since the doctors explained it’s not healthy for her to be on the road.”
Cardi added that she has to do “what’s best for [herself] and [her] baby,” and thanked Bruno for being “so supportive and understanding.”
Cardi’s reason is 100 percent understandable. Having a baby is not easy, and we appreciate how honest and real she is about the difficulties of motherhood, especially when women are encouraged just to bounce back after pregnancy.
Shortly after Cardi posted her announcement, Bruno replied on social media, and was completely supportive of Cardi’s decision, HelloGiggles reports.
“Most important thing is you and your family’s health. I know the fans will understand,” Bruno wrote, adding that she is “absolutely doing the right thing.”
Bruno also promised to play “Bodak Yellow” every night in her honor, and how sweet is that?
