I Have 1 Big Question About Colleen & Matt From ‘Love Is Blind’

Love Is Blind Season 3 has been one heck of a rollercoaster, and honestly, no relationship with any of the couples seems totally and 100% stable. And although we’ve already seen one couple not make it across the altar at the end of Episode 10 (I won’t spoil that, I promise), I still have no idea who’s going to walk down the aisle in Episode 11. But one couple I’ve been wondering a lot about is Colleen and Matt: Will they get married? Honestly? I’m not so sure. Spoiler alert: Spoilers for Love Is Blind Season 3 follow.

Despite falling head over heels for each other in the pods, Colleen and Matt have faced a lot of bumps in their relationship — and a huge reason for that was because of Cole having mega heart eyes for Colleen (at least physically, so Cole said, anyway). In Episode 5, Cole called Colleen “cute” and flirted with her at the pool despite being engaged to his fianceé Zanab — and TBH, Colleen kind of flirted back. “You would be the person who I would go to in a bar … in the real world,” Colleen told Cole. OMG.

ICYMI, Matt spotted Colleen chatting with Cole at the pool (uh oh) and got really upset. “We have four weeks to get married, and for you to tell people that they’re attractive people, as an engaged woman…” Matt said to Colleen. “He’s a cute guy in the real world. Whatever happens, happens, right? So f*ck me, right?” Yikes.

And although Matt packed his bags that night and it seemed like he was done, he returned the next morning and the two apparently talked through their feelings. While the problem seemed resolved, things reached a boiling point again in Episode 7 when Matt told Colleen that the whole thing with Cole was still bothering him. Upset (and a bit tipsy), Colleen responded, “Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me?” Yeah, let’s just say she wasn’t having it.

And while the two have shared some mega cute moments — between meeting each other’s families and connecting on a deeper emotional level — part of the couple’s main issue is communication. Given his history, Matt also isn’t the most reliable partner. Having been hurt in the past (his ex cheated on him and got pregnant — which, OK, I get how that could create mega trust issues), Matt has been scared to be vulnerable with Colleen and fully trust her. This has caused him to pack up his things and leave on two separate occasions. In Episode 7, he got really upset when Colleen went out with a few of the other Love Is Blind cast members on a GNO. “As a group, we were like, ‘Let’s go to the club,’ after this little party we were doing,” Colleen told Matt’s friends as she recalled the moment. “And the girls went in one Uber, and the boys went in the other.” Colleen said that she FaceTimed Matt several times and that he saw the club in the background and instantly got upset. “He packed up his bags and he [peaced] out,” Colleen said.

“Throughout this experiment, you start to get scared, and you start to fear, ‘Am I really making this right decision?’” Matt said. “I think that maybe I was blowing some things out of proportion because I was looking for an out.”

In Episode 9, a couple of nights before their wedding day, Colleen and Matt had a serious conversation about their relationship over dinner — and it was a lot, TBH. “I don’t know, if sh*t hits the fan, if you’ll still be there,” Colleen honestly told him. “I’m going through a lot,” she continued. “I’m constantly questioning myself [and] questioning us.” Uh oh.

“I’m so there, but I’m so not, at the same time,” she said. “Every day, it’s different. I just don’t know.” Matt continued to push her — asking her to say if right now, she would marry him — until she finally caved. “Right now, no.” Wow. So… Maybe these two won’t walk down the aisle, after all?

However, I did a bit of Instagram sleuthing, and I’m still questioning everything. On her Instagram, Colleen posted a photo of the two laughing, saying, “These most recent episodes have shown some of our toughest moments but also amazing memories that I’ll forever cherish. The yacht date was unbelievable and meeting each other’s family and friends was very special.” Colleen continued, “We talked for hours about bringing each other into our ‘real world’ and when we were eventually able to do so, we realized quickly how much love and respect we have for each other. I’ll always love our story.”

And although Matt hasn’t posted with Colleen as of yet on the gram, he did post a picture of himself on Oct. 30 along with the caption, “Casually awaiting my first therapy session.” Despite this likely being a joke in response to fans commenting on his anger issues, maybe Matt is working on himself and the two are actually working through their issues? I hope so, but who knows, honestly.

So, will Colleen and Matt walk down the aisle? Like Colleen, I’m honestly 50/50 — but fortunately, we won’t have to wait long to find out. Episode 11 of Love Is Blind drops on Netflix on Wednesday, Nov. 9.
