How did you get your internship at Vogue?
An acquaintance who had interned in the Special Events department of the magazine told me about the opening in PR. I have now been working at Vogue for about 8 months and I absolutely love it! I was thrilled when my bosses asked me to help out with Fashion’s Night Out this year.
What is Fashion’s Night Out?
FNO is an annual event organized by Vogue and the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America). Anna Wintour, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue, originally conceived of FNO in 2009 as a way to kick-start the fledgling economy and fashion industry by encouraging people to start shopping again. All proceeds raised on the night of FNO go towards various charities selected by the magazine. The night of FNO stores everywhere stay open late and host parties or events with fun activities, celebrity guests, amazing giveaways, and much much more.
Where does FNO take place?
This year’s FNO (September 8), was bigger than ever. The event was co-hosted by Vogue publications in 27 cities around the US and 15 countries all over the world.
What role did you play at FNO?
I worked with the Vogue team in New York City and it was quite a busy night. We helped set up Barbie busses which transported shoppers all over the city, visited retailers such as Sephora and Michael Kors to make sure events were running smoothly, and even had time to have a little fun getting our makeup done at Saks Fifth Avenue.
What did you wear to FNO?
Green J.Crew Barbour coat, high-waisted J Brand flare jeans, black heel booties, and the grey long sleeve FNO tee
All in all it was a great night for a good cause. I’ve already started counting the days to next year’s FNO!
