Courteney Cox Stands Up For Jennifer Aniston Amid Brangelina Drama

Last week, Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from her longtime partner and husband of two years Brad Pitt. If you know your pop culture history, you likely know that Brangelina stirred up quite a bit of drama when they first became interested in one another. At the time, Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston.

Since then, some fans of Jennifer and Brad have been holding out for a reunion between the two, and whenever media attention was given to Brangelina, Aniston was somehow always dragged into the story, too.

Courteney Cox, who has been friends (wink wink) with Aniston for years, gave her take on the news of Brangelina’s breakup, as well as the unnecessary inclusion of Aniston in the headlines, in a recent red carpet rendezvous with ET. “I feel like we’re exacerbating it by even talking about it,” Cox responded after being asked about the story. “It’s not about her,” she added.

Short and sweet—and that’s all that needs to be said. It’s not about her. Aniston has moved on, and we need to stop perpetuating the narrative that she’s hung up on her ex from over a decade ago.

If Aniston hasn’t given her opinion on the matter, it’s time we stop speculating about how she’s doing or how she’s feeling. Expecting celebrities to either share their entire personal lives with us or feel the way we expect them to is unrealistic, unfair and unkind.

Aniston has shared thoughts of her own on the better things that the media could be doing than focusing on the implosion of real people’s personal lives. We hope Aniston continues to stay above the fray. Exes are so last year. Friends are better anyway!
