Drake dropped the highly-anticipated music video for “God’s Plan” on Friday and boy was he generous. The beginning of the video explains that Drake decided to give away the entire music video budget, which came to a whopping $996,631.90.Â
Miami was blessed with Drake’s presence earlier in February at a high school, where he donated $25,000 and chilled on a crane for students to see. Then, at the University of Miami, he gifted one lucky student with a $50,000 scholarship and performed for a swarm of students on campus. He also hit other local spots, like a supermarket where he paid for everyone’s groceries and a fire department where he donated $20,000. He also handed out random wads of cash to unsuspecting families.
Oh, and did I mention some people got cars, shopping sprees and the chance to meet Drake? Not a bad time to be in Miami. Of course the music video also made time for some dancing, this time featuring Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown. Maybe my favorite shot is the baby holding the fat stack of bills.Â
The video was special for Drake too. He said on Instagram that it was “the most important thing” he’s ever done in his career.Â
To sum it up: lots of checks, lots of love, lots of Drake. Sounds pretty perfect.Â
