If anyone’s looking to get in touch with a celebrity, Beyoncé is pretty much a lost cause. Fellow musical genius Ed Sheeran told Entertainment Tonight that Bey is so careful with her private information, even he has trouble reaching her.
Beyoncé is featured on a remix of Ed’s song “Perfect,” but the British singer revealed that the beautiful rendition almost didn’t happen. He explained to ET that he contacts Queen B via email, but her email address changes more than the weather. He said, “I have an email address I email [to get in touch with Beyoncé]…[The address] actually changes every week.”
It makes sense for Bey to hide personal information from her millions of fans, but she’s reaching a whole new level of secrecy by keeping it from other celebrities. Seriously, how famous do you need to be to have the luxury of knowing Beyoncé’s ever-changing email address?
According to Refinery29, Ed was quite nervous about reaching out to Beyoncé to begin with. In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, the singer admitted that he expected Bey to shut down his request for a duet. “I was like, ‘I love Beyoncé. Should I ask Beyoncé?’ And then in my head, I was like, ‘She’s going to say no,’ but then I was like, ‘Well, you might as well ask,'” he explained on Ellen’s Show Me More. “And she said yeah, so here we are.” Casual.
By the sound of it, I wouldn’t be surprised if Jay-Z didn’t know his own wife’s email address. Kudos to Bey for being the least likely celebrity to be hacked—and to Ed for defying the odds and ultimately creating a musical masterpiece with the Queen herself.
