Why Doesn’t Emma Chamberlain Post On YouTube Anymore? She Got Real About It

Internet star Emma Chamberlain has been noticeably absent from her usual internet endeavors recently. The 22-year-old first entered the public eye when she began posting on YouTube in 2017. Chamberlain’s popularity has skyrocketed since then, as she has become a model, business owner, podcaster, Met Gala red carpet correspondent, and more.

Currently, Chamberlain’s YouTube channel is far less active than it was when she began posting videos. She had previously taken a six month hiatus from posting videos in 2022. When fans grew concerned at Chamberlain’s absence from YouTube, she took to her podcast, Anything Goes, to share her thoughts on the social platform and her place on it.

Chamberlain stated, “The pressure to be a weekly YouTuber, 365 days a year, is unrealistic, yet it’s the standard.” The then-21-year-old expressed feeling like she was releasing content she was not proud of to appease her audience, and it had been taking a toll on her mental health. Chamberlain additionally expressed finding creative inspiration from her podcast instead of YouTube videos.

Now, although Chamberlain still posts the occasional video on YouTube, she’s still not posting at the rate she once did. She still describes her podcast as one of her highest priorities. In a June 20 interview with Cosmopolitan, Chamberlain remarked, “I’m doing a weekly podcast now; it’s probably the thing I’m working hardest at this point.” Clearly, Chamberlain’s efforts on her podcast are not going unnoticed: she has gained over 1.1 million followers and an almost four-star rating, according to Issuu.

But her podcast is not the only project Chamberlain is focused on. In 2019, the internet star founded her own coffee company that continues to be successful: Chamberlain Coffee. Chamberlain takes pride in her business and told Cosmo, “I’m working on that constantly, on a daily basis.” Chamberlain said her work behind the camera has been helpful, because, “I’ve been able to contemplate what’s next for me video-wise. Because that’s a medium I really love and adore, but I just did it so much for so many years that I needed to take a step back and be like, Okay, wait a minute. What are we going to do now? Because it’s like, I’m not excited about this anymore. What’s next?

If you were a fan of Chamberlain’s YouTube videos, have no fear: The star may not be as active on the platform these days, but she isn’t going anywhere, and is developing new and exciting projects for her fans to enjoy.
