While I love The Bachelorette, it’s typically filled with more drama than comedy. Last night’s episode, however, was a welcome change of pace from the past few weeks’ dramatic episodes. After Clare Crawley finally left the show to be with Dale, Tayshia Adams stepped up to the plate, taking on the role of this season’s Bachelorette and TBH, it feels like a breath of fresh air.
The whole energy of the show felt so much lighter this week. Last night, the guys were actually smiling and laughing, rather than stressing out about the Clare and Dale drama, and the energy was infectious all the way across the screen. Here are five of the funniest moments from Tayshia’s debut – quotes so hysterical, I literally had to pause the show so I didn’t miss anything else while laughing.
1. “I already like her way better than Clare!”
No offense to Clare, but it’s kind of hilarious to see how happy these guys are now that she’s gone. Ivan spared no feelings when he expressed his excitement for Tayshia.
2. “Which one of you guys scared away Clare?”
Clare is already the punchline of this season, and I’m not mad about it. When Spencer, one of the new guys to join the season, first walked in and delivered this line, I lost it. Too soon? Maybe. Hilarious? Absolutely.
3. “Oh, I’m not worried about him.”
As the rest of the guys anxiously looked out the window Tayshia met the new guys, they clearly weren’t concerned about one of them. When Noah got out of the limo, mustache and all, the guys shared a laugh, confident that he wouldn’t be a threat for them.
4. “BABIES”
In an uncomfortable exchange between Chris Harrison and Clare and Dale, Chris asked what’s next for them, to which Clare excitedly screamed, “Babies!” while Dale looked scared uncomfortable. He tried to interject that they’re going to get married first, but Clare just said, “Whatever.” I give this relationship another 6 months max.
5. “That man is a fried bologna sandwich with the mayonnaise all day.”
Riley clearly has beef with Spencer already, delivering this creative insult after referring to him as “lunch meat.” TBH, I think the producers brought in the new guys because Clare’s guys got along too well, and what’s a season of The Bachelorette without drama in the house?
Bonus: “Zac’s interesting. I don’t know if it’s his accent.”
I didn’t think Zac had an accent, and then I realized he’s from New Jersey.
This week’s episode was such a welcome change of pace after all of the drama we’ve endured over the past few weeks. I’m optimistic about the remainder of Tayshia’s season; maybe for once Chris Harrison won’t deem this the most dramatic season ever.
