Let’s be honest, Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour movie didn’t disappoint in the slightest. The movie was an incredible experience for those who didn’t get a chance to see Swift live during her Eras Tour as well as for fans who wanted to relive her concert on the big screen. Since the movie debuted in theaters on Oct. 13, many Swifties have had one important question: Will the movie be streaming?
Luckily for fans, Swift announced on Nov. 27 that her history-making Eras Tour would be available to rent on demand beginning Dec. 13 — her birthday! The singer revealed this exciting news on Instagram, sharing that the movie will be an extended version of the hit box-office film and feature performances of her songs “Wildest Dreams,” “The Archer” and “Long Live.”
Now, the Eras Tour movie will soon be heading to Disney+ as Swift announced on Feb. 7 that the concert film will be available to stream on the platform beginning Mar. 15. This version of the concert film will be very special for Swifties as the singer revealed that it will include a live performance of “cardigan” and 4 additional acoustic songs from the tour.
“I’m thrilled to let you know I’ve found a streaming home for The Eras Tour Concert Film, and that home will be @disneyplus. For the first time we’ll be showing the entire concert (including “cardigan”, plus 4 additional songs from the acoustic section!!) and I’m calling it, huge shock, “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version),” she wrote on Instagram.
On Aug. 31, Taylor first announced that the Eras Tour was going to be a movie, screened in AMC theaters nationwide starting Oct. 13. The movie is about two hours and 45 minutes long, which is basically a concert experience. The actual concert is three hours and 15 minutes long.
The movie was filmed during Taylor’s performances at the SoFi stadium in Los Angeles, where Taylor did a six-concert run. It’s not clear which specific show date was filmed, but the surprise songs throughout those six days were perfect.
During The Eras Tour film’s theatrical run, Swifties were able to dance and sing along together as they relived this iconic tour. With the movie now coming to on-demand, fans will finally have the chance to enjoy the film in the comfort of their own homes.
According to a press release, the film will be available to stream on platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Apple, Vudu, Xfinity, YouTube TV and Google TV. As for the price, The Eras Tour movie will cost $19.89 to rent (prices may vary by retailer) — a nod to Swift’s hit album 1989.
If you need me, I’ll be singing my heart out while watching The Eras Tour movie on my couch.
