Remember Fifth Harmony? I do, and I’m proud to admit that they’re my Roman Empire. With the girls’ quotes about reconnecting in recent interviews as well as with Ally Brooke and Dinah Jane collaborating on a Christmas cover in December 2023, many fans still had high hopes for an official reunion.
On Mar. 1, Page Six seemed to deliver the news that Harmonizers have been waiting for. The outlet claimed that all former members of Fifth Harmony, including Camila Cabello who parted ways with the group in December 2016, were looking to release a new song together as a treat for fans. Some suspicious Harmonizers doubted the legitimacy of this report, and they turned out to be right.
Rolling Stone later confirmed that the girls do not have any set plans to reunite at the moment. That’s a bummer. But this news ins’t stopping fans from enjoying the ongoing Fifth Harmony renaissance that’s been circulating through social media.
Since Feb. 15, interest in Fifth Harmony skyrocketed when TikToker Noah Miller discussed the impact of the group’s 2017 hit “All In My Head (Flex).”
As the song resurfaced, many more Harmonizers began to reveal themselves. Users have even sparked conversations on the band’s most underrated moments and their favorite unreleased songs.
Former members Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, and Lauren Jauregui have thanked both longtime and newer fans for the Fifth Harmony Renaissance. In a comment on Miller’s TikTok, Cabello agreed that “All In My Head (Flex)” is a “forever banger.” So far, it’s been crickets from Normani, but hopefully that will change soon.
Although Fifth Harmony’s not reuniting, we still have lots to look forward to in 2024! Normani is set to release her highly anticipated debut solo album, Dopamine, later this year and all four of her former bandmates were quick to hype her up on Instagram when she announced the project. Meanwhile, Cabello teased a new album cycle when she showed off her new blonde hairdo, telling fans “it’s time >:)” in an Instagram caption.
Since a reunion isn’t on the horizon for now, I’ll be participating in the Fifth Harmony renaissance and impatiently waiting for Normani and Cabello’s solo projects if you need me.
