Fox News issued an apology on Monday after a graphic ran during the morning show Fox & Friends that said Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is dead.
The graphic showed a photo of Ginsburg with the dates 1933-2019, similar to typical in memoriam formats.

“We need to apologize. … A technical error in the control room triggered a graphic of RBG with a date on it,” Fox & Friends co-host Steve Doocy said later in the show. “We don’t want to make it seem anything other than that was a mistake. That was an accident.”
Co-host Ainsley Earhardt also apologized, calling the move a “big mistake.”
A Fox News spokesman told The Hill that it was a “technical error that emanated from the graphics team.”
Ginsburg’s health has been in the news since December, when she underwent surgery to remove cancerous nodules. Just this month, she missed oral arguments on the court for the first time in her 25 years on the bench. Ginsburg is, however, expected to return soon.
