Here’s How To Get A Free Uber Ride To See The ‘Mean Girls’ Movie This Week

Get in, losers — we’re going to the movie theater! To see what movie, you ask? Oh, just one of the most iconic films of all time rebranded into a musical with songs that already have me in a chokehold. The new Mean Girls musical movie, which hits theaters on Jan. 12, already has fans online buzzing with anticipation. To make the release of this campy phenomenon even better, Uber will be offering teens free rides to go see Mean Girls in theaters until Jan. 15, so here’s how to snag your free ride.

The new Mean Girls film has already gained traction and hype due to its stunning cast, including Renée Rapp (who reprises her role as Regina George since starring in the 2019 Mean Girls Broadway show), Christopher Briney, Angourie Rice, Avantika Vandanapu, and not to mention the returning characters from the original Mean Girls, like Tina Fey as Ms. Norbury and Tim Meadows as Principal Duvall. The movie still follows the original story from the 2004 film, focusing on Cady Heron infiltrating the elite group of the Plastics and the drama that ensues with antagonist Regina George.

With a movie filled with Gen Z favorites, a younger audience is anticipated to flock to theaters and Uber wants to enhance the experience with free rides. From Wednesday, Jan. 10, to Monday, Jan. 15, Uber is offering two free rides (up to $15) to new Uber teen account riders nationwide — just in time for the early access screenings starting on Jan. 10 and through opening weekend.

Teens (ages 13-17) with an Uber teen account can request their rides all while under parental supervision, so teens can get their freedom while parents can have peace of mind. Parents can also follow along from pickup to drop-off at the theater with live safety features and real-time updates instead of bothering their teens. This Uber offer is amazing for teens to be able to go out independently with friends for a night out, while also giving parents the updates they need to ease their nerves.

Another big component of the film, aside from the iconic cast, is its musical numbers, making the movie even more unique, with two songs from the new film’s soundtrack already circulating and causing commotion. The first is “World Burn,” depicting the inner workings and manipulation by Regina George, mixed with the sultry voice of Rapp. The second is “Not My Fault,” a rendition of iconic lines from Regina in the original film, mixed in with an upbeat tempo and vocals from Rapp and Megan Thee Stallion.

Now, go and start the new year off right by ordering an Uber and heading to theaters to see the masterpiece that Mean Girls is — preferably listening to the soundtrack, and of course, wearing pink.
