With Batman v Superman, we already got a taste of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, who will be featured in her own movie next summer. Along with the general hype about this badass female superhero hitting the big screen, people are also curious about the sexual orientation of Diana Prince, especially after some recent comments from comic book writer Greg Rucka. Â
Rucka said earlier this fall that he thinks Wonder Woman could be bisexual. In an interview with Comicosity, Rucka said, “Now, are we saying Diana has been in love and had relationships with other women? As [comic book artist] Nicola [Scott] and I approach it, the answer is obviously yes.”Â
Gadot told Variety in October that the upcoming movie doesn’t openly explore bisexuality, but that doesn’t mean Diana isn’t bisexual. “In this movie she does not experience any bisexual relationships,” Gadot said. “But it’s not about that. She’s a woman who loves people for who they are. She can be bisexual. She loves people for their hearts.”
Most recently, in an interview with an Israeli talk show, Gadot specified that she could see Halle Berry as a romantic interest for Wonder Woman. Gadot elaborated, “I saw her the other day, Halle Berry. She’s so beautiful. Wow! She’s gorgeous! So… yeah, I could do it with her,” in regards to whether she thinks Wonder Woman could ever have a girlfriend.Â
We’re not complaining about seeing dreamboat Chris Pine as Diana’s love interest, Steve Trevor, in Wonder Woman, but in future adaptations, it could be cool to see Diana get together with a character portrayed by Halle Berry—or any female actress.
