Melania Trump Was Hospitalized For A Kidney Disorder
The First Lady underwent an embolization procedure to treat a “benign kidney condition,” on Monday morning, according to a statement from the White House. “The procedure was successful and there were no complications,” the announcement read in part.
Melania was initially admitted to Washington D.C.’s Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where she’ll likely stay for the duration of the week. The New York Times reported that President Trump visited Melania for an hour Monday afternoon before returning to the White House. The statement concluded with, “The first lady looks forward to a full recovery so she can continue her work on behalf of children everywhere.”
The Supreme Court Struck Down A Federal Law That Banned Commercial Sports Betting In Most States
On Monday, the Supreme Court voted in a 6-3 ruling to strike down a 1992 federal law that prevented a majority of states from authorizing sports betting. According to the court, the “Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act” was unconstitutional, particularly when it came to states’ rights.
“The legalization of sports gambling requires an important policy choice, but the choice is not ours to make,” Justice Samuel Alito wrote. “Congress can regulate sports gambling directly, but if it elects not to do so, each state is free to act on its own.”

According to CNN, the ruling is a victory for New Jersey and other states that had previously expressed interest in allowing sports gambling to encourage tourism and tax revenue.
Kellyanne Conway Predicts White House Personnel Changes After Leaks
Madness ensued last week after anonymous White House staffers revealed to the press a remark aide Kelly Salder made about John McCain during a meeting. Now, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway — and President Trump himself — are doing damage control. Conway told Fox News on Monday that she expects personnel changes to occur as a result of continued leaks.
“There are all kinds of leaks,” Conway said. “Some leaks exist to hurt colleagues, some leaks exist because they disagree with the policies that are being put forth. But none of them are helpful and I will tell you something else that’s going on in this White House, but not as badly as it was in the beginning, it’s not so much leaking as using the media to shiv each other.”
Trump also talked about leaks on Monday, tweeting, “The so-called leaks coming out of the White House are a massive over exaggeration put out by the Fake News Media in order to make us look as bad as possible. With that being said, leakers are traitors and cowards, and we will find out who they are.”
Conway insisted Trump has the authority to fire “leakers,” and said anyone who works for the president should want to be “competent” and “loyal.”
