HC Wake-Up Call: Obama Says We Need More Women in Power, Trump Tweets in Support of Roy Moore & This Is Probably the Biggest Bed Ever

Good morning Her Campus! With a break-neck news cycle, there is no possible way for you to stay on top of every story that comes across your feeds—we’re all only human, after all.

But, life comes at you fast. So grab a cup of coffee and settle in for this quick and dirty guide to stories you might’ve been sleeping on (like, literally. It’s early.)

Obama Says We Need More Women in Power Because Men Are, “Having Problems”

We couldn’t agree more. While speaking to the press in Paris on Monday, the former POTUS said what women have known for years: we need more women in politics and positions of power. Men, according to Obama, “seem to be having some problems these days,” he said, referencing the dozens of sexual misconduct allegations brought against men in power throughout the last few months. As if we needed yet another reason to miss America’s (unofficial) dad.

Trump Has Endorsed Roy Moore (Again)

Meanwhile, back in the current White House: while he’s previously offered his support of the Alabama senate candidate accused of child molestation and sexual misconduct by nine women, Donald Trump took to Twitter on Monday in his most outspoken show of support for Roy Moore so far.

“Democrats refusal to give even one vote for massive Tax Cuts is why we need Republican Roy Moore to win in Alabama. We need his vote on stopping crime, illegal immigration, Border Wall, Military, Pro Life, V.A., Judges 2nd Amendment and more. No to Jones, a Pelosi/Schumer Puppet!” Trump said, effectively placing greater importance on his policies (many of which are sexist and racist) over Moore’s alleged past of inappropriately touching girls as young as 14 years old. So that’s reassuring.

This Is Probably the Biggest Bed You Can Buy & Yes, We Absolutely Need It

Just try and name one thing better than curling up in a really, really big, cozy bed — chances are you can’t. Which is why you need to know about this giant co-sleeping bed that is literally designed to fit your entire family — except we’d like to keep it all to ourselves, thank you. Made by mattress company The Ace Collection, at over 12 feet by six feet, it’s basically a dream come true — though the over-$2,000 price tag is definitely a little out of our range. Anyone feeling particularly generous this holiday season?

What to look out for…

The women of #MeToo are nominated for Time’‘s “Person of the Year,” award which will be announced tomorrow morning — and here’s hoping that the magazine will choose to recognize the bravery of the thousands of women who came forward to share their stories.
