One thing about Tiktok is that it turns even the shortest sounds into viral trends, leaving your FYP full of addicting audio. Ice Spice is one celebrity who understands the influence of famous TikTok sounds. From her rap verse in PinkPantheress’ “Boy’s A Liar Pt. 2” to her song “Munch” becoming famous on the popular app, social media has contributed to her the rapper’s to superstardom. Ice Spice finds herself once again with a hit song under her belt, this time with the release of her new single “Think U The Sh*t (Fart).” Let’s just say that internet users have conflicting feelings about this track.
Ice Spice teased the track on X/Twitter on Jan. 7 with a photo of Mario, the beloved video game character from the Mario Bros. franchise. The photo shows Mario smoking a blunt against a black background. A snippet from the song appears above the image in the form of a caption:
“B*tches be thinking they the sh*t, but they ain’t even the fart!”
Following the social media upload, TikTok users quickly seized the audio from the post and made it a trending sound due to its amusing lyrics and style of delivery. Ice Spice’s fans eagerly asked the rapper to release the song on streaming services, and on Jan. 26, it finally made its debut. The rapper even dropped a supporting music video on the same day — just a few hours later.
After giving the new song a listen, fans immediately took to X/Twitter to share their reactions, and a lot of them were hilarious.
While many were initially thrilled with the song’s release, others have had mixed feelings about it.
In addition to talking about the song on Twitter, people have also brought Ice Spice into the ongoing beef with Megan The Stallion and Nicki Minaj. On the same day Ice Spice dropped “Think U The Sh*t (Fart), Megan released her new single “Hiss”, which resulted in a very public internet feud with Nicki Minaj. With Meg’s new single sparking Twitter turmoil not only amongst the celebs but also among X users, Ice Spice found herself in the middle of the Twitter drama.
NGL, this new song is very catchy and it makes total sense why a snippet of it went viral on TikTok. Now that the full song and music video are out, I’m pretty sure we’ll be hearing a lot more of this new single.
