It’s Been #1YearWithoutZayn & The Internet Doesn’t Know How to Feel

To be honest, our hearts are still healing from the pain of learning our beloved Zayn Malik was leaving One Direction. March 25, 2016 marks the one-year anniversary of this sad reality.

But, we have to admit that we are HUGE fans of everything that Zayn has been doing since. Today also marks the day that Zayn gave us Mind of Mine, his debut solo album that we are still listening to on repeat. Even though One Direction isn’t the same, we are happy that Zayn has been doing so well.

To pay tribute to this momentous anniversary, 1D fans have been taking to Twitter to share #1YearWithoutZayn memes. Coming in all shapes and sizes, these memes perfectly capture all the mixed emotions we’ve experienced within the past year.

While some express happiness and others anger, some memes share our confusion and frustration about what has become. But above all, these memes show how much Zayn means to us and how tough it’s been adjusting to this new reality.

No matter what Zayn does, we just want him to be healthy and happy—and that’s exactly what it seems he has been this past year! We are so excited to see what the next year holds for the former One Directioner as well as all of his former bandmates. Here’s to #1YearWithoutZayn. We love you, Zayn!
