The Philadelphia Eagles recently defeated the 49ers in the championship game, booking their ticket for the Superbowl. And while the girlies are definitely sad about Joe Burrow’s Superbowl absence, many are shifting their focus to another NFL player: Jalen Hurts.
You wouldn’t typically describe the Philly team as a fan favorite. In fact, at the NFC game, Eagles fans hilariously sported shirts with the saying, “No one likes us, we don’t care.” While many are eager for this year’s Super Bowl to watch two star quarterbacks, Mahomes (Chiefs) and Hurts (Eagles) go head to head, all the girlies will be watching to keep their eyes on Jalen Hurts.Â
As a cheesy American, I love a good underdog story, but as a small-town college girl living in Texas, what I love even more, is a big ol’ football player — and I am not discriminating against teams.Â
Being from the ever-obnoxious Texas, you can usually catch me fangirling over Dak Prescott. However, after seeing Jalen Hurts, I can definitely understand the craze that ensued from fans after he introduced his girlfriend at the NFC championship game. It’s safe to say I will be keeping a close eye on the ball, and Hurts, during the game.Â
Hurts made a debut appearance with his college sweetheart, Bryonna “Bry” Burrows, at the NFC championship last Sunday. When I say fans went wild, this is not an understatement. Screw the fact that the long-shot team from Philadelphia was headed to the Superbowl again, what viewers really cared about was Hurts’girlfriend. That’s right, you heard me, the city’s heartthrob has been cuffed this whole time. He really had to crush me right before Valentine’s day, as if drinking wine alone in my college apartment wasn’t enough.Â
Apparently Hurts and Burrows have been dating on and off since 2016; they met at The University Of Alabama, where Hurts was playing at the time. A quick cyberstalk of Burrows will let you know that she is def not in the relationship for publicity and fame. Burrows’ account is private, with a humble 1700 followers. Her Instagram bio is “love language: wine” and has no mention of Hurts at all.
She has an MBA, can reportedly speak Spanish, and has been an AI partner since 2019, according to her Linkedin. She graduated from The University Of Alabama with two undergraduate degrees in Spanish and Political Science. Additionally, Burrows was also a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha, a historically Black sorority. OK, Miss Involved!
Well, football fans, we can’t have it all. While I am currently still recovering from the fact that my dreams of marrying Jalen Hurts are probably never going to come true, I am overjoyed that the Eagles might take another Superbowl dub. The Superbowl is February 12th, get your jerseys — and cameras — ready!
