According to CNN, James Franco still plans on attending the 2018 Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday, January 21 despite five women recently accusing him of inappropriate or sexually exploitive behavior.
Franco is nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for his part in The Disaster Artist. He recently won a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for the same role, but he later skipped the Critics’ Choice Awards — most likely because they were on the same day that the five accusations surfaced.
Franco still won the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actor in a Comedy.
The first accusations against Franco appeared on Twitter during the Golden Globes.
In an interview with Seth Meyers, Franco confirmed he had seen the tweets.
“So yeah, I did read them. I haven’t responded,” he said. He’s otherwise denied the allegations.
The 24th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will air this Sunday on TBS and TNT.
