Not to toot my own horn but when it comes to reality dating shows, I can usually tell early on which couples are going to make it. Most of the time, it’s pretty obvious which relationships are gonna go far, but with shows like Love Is Blind, my guesses on which couples will make it to the altar are never correct. Spoiler Warning: Spoilers for Love Is Blind Season 6 follow.
When the first few episodes of Season 6 aired, I was convinced Kenneth and Brittany as well as Laura and Jeramey had solid relationships and would definitely get married. However, these relationships crashed and burned as soon as both couples entered “the real world.” The only couples now left are AD and Clay, Amy and Johnny, and Chelsea and Jimmy. I have a lot of hope for Amy and Johnny but am not too confident that AD and Clay are each other’s one true love (him questioning if he has the self-control not to cheat on AD just gives me the ick.)
As for Jimmy and Chelsea, their future together isn’t looking too bright, especially after episode 11.
Chelsea and Jimmy’s romance started out as a love square.
Love Is Blind has had its fair share of overlapping love connections over the years, but Chelsea and Jimmy’s love square at the start of Season 6 was a lot to take in. Before getting engaged, both Chelsea and Jimmy had formed deep connections with other people in the pods— Jimmy with Jessica Vestal and Chelsea with Trevor Sova.
After struggling to choose who he wanted to be with, Jimmy decided to end things with Jessica, who told him he would need his EpiPen when he saw her (iconic!). Meanwhile, Chelsea broke things off with Trevor since she felt that her connection with Jimmy was stronger.
Chelsea and Jimmy faced a slew of issues in the “real world.”
Now, you would think things between Chelsea and Jimmy would be great once they were out of the pods. Think again.
When it came time for them to meet face to face, Jimmy was clearly shocked to learn that Chelsea didn’t look like Megan Fox, which she mentioned in the pods. But this was only the first of many issues the couple would face.
While in the Dominican Republic, Chelsea accused Jimmy of making her feel insecure after he called fellow LIB castmate AD “stacked.”
Once they returned to Charlotte to live together, things got even more rocky between the pair when Jimmy called Chelsea “clingy” after she called him out for not kissing her or being enthusiastic when he would say “I love you.”
But their relationship reached a boiling point when Chelsea claimed, “You f*cked her! I know you f*cked her!” in episode 10 during an argument about Jimmy’s relationship with his close friend Barbara.
Do Chelsea and Jimmy get married?
At the end of episode 11, Chelsea and Jimmy have a cute date at an amusement and end the night talking about how they’re feeling in terms of their relationship.
Although Chelsea said she found herself questioning if she could spend the rest of her life with Jimmy quite a few times throughout the process, she felt good about the direction their relationship was heading.
As for Jimmy, he expressed his love for Chelsea and said he didn’t have a doubt in his mind that she was his person. However, he questioned if they were going to get married since he wasn’t sure of where Chelsea’s head was at. When he asked her to give him an answer, the episode ended before she could respond, leaving many of us fans wondering about the fate of Chelsea and Jimmy’s relationship.
So for those asking if Jimmy and Chelsea get married, the answer was revealed at the beginning of episode 12. In the finale, Chelsea tells Jimmy that she can see them going the distance, despite all of the issues they faced. But Jimmy didn’t think their relationship was as solid as Chelsea was making it out to be and went on to drop a major bomb.
“Every day you’ve done exactly what I would want in a wife,” he said. “I love you to death, and I want a relationship with you and I want us to work so bad, but I don’t want to go to the altar. I can’t.”
Of course, Chelsea was shocked by this and went on to call Jimmy out for knowing “this entire time” that he was going to say no. The two then got into a heated argument which resulted in their wedding being called off and a tearful Chelsea leaving Jimmy at the dinner table alone.
So there you have it, Chelsea and Jimmy didn’t make it to the altar but TBH, I feel like all of us knew they weren’t going to. I, for one, can’t wait to see what this former couple has to say to each other at the reunion because I feel like it’s going to be a lot.
The Love Is Blind Season 6 reunion will be released on Mar. 13 at 9 p.m. ET on Netflix.
