Taylor Swift certainly knows how to spoil Swifties; after all, she surprised fans with four music releases on the night of the opening concert for her sixth headlining tour. The same concert included songs from her previous albums, such as Lover, Folklore, and Evermore, as well as her most recent, Midnights, on the setlist.
Swift’s four songs included re-recordings of “Safe & Sound” and “Eyes Open,” both soundtrack releases from the 2012 film The Hunger Games, interestingly coinciding with Netflix releasing the entire trilogy film collection for a limited time, which fans believe was intentionally done to hint at the release of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes on Nov. 17, 2023. She also released a Taylor’s Version of “If This Was a Movie” from her 2010 album Speak Now, but the unveiling of her unreleased work from the 2019 Lover album “All The Girls You Loved Before” has fans swooning.
Fans are convinced that the song is about her relationship with her longtime boyfriend Joe Alwyn. The chorus of the song says, “All of the girls you loved before (Ooh) / Made you the one I’ve fallen for / Every dead-end street led you straight to me / Now you’re all I need, I’m so thankful for / All of the girls you loved before / But I love you more,” which depict Swift’s admiration for Alwyn and how Alwyn’s exes helped to shape him into the person Swift eventually fell in love with. If you haven’t noticed, I’m already crying because the lyrics are so adorable.
As Swift’s tour continues, one question on fans’ minds is whether Joe Alwyn is going to any of the Eras tour shows.
ALWYN MADE AN APPEARANCE DURING SWIFT’S 2018 REPUTATION TOUR.
Swift and Alwyn’s relationship has been relatively private since its start around 2016. Swift briefly mentioned their relationship and the love she developed for Alwyn in her 2020 documentary film, Miss Americana, stating, “I also was falling in love with someone who had a really wonderfully normal, balanced, grounded life. And we decided together that we wanted our relationship to be private.” Swift is seen in the documentary running into Alwyn’s arms after finishing a tour stop, before embracing and walking away together. Fans were quick to discover that he attended her opening Reputation Tour show at Glendale, Arizona’s University of Phoenix Stadium.
WILL ALWyN ATTEND A STOP ON THE ERAS TOUR?
Only time will tell if Alwyn will make an appearance on Swift’s Eras tour. As of now, it does not appear that Alwyn attended Swift’s opening show in Glendale, where he previously attended the Reputation tour. Still, that hasn’t stopped fans on Twitter from metaphorically fighting Alwyn for Swift’s attention after witnessing Swift’s iconic three-hour performance.
Still, there are 52 shows total on the Eras tour, so it’s possible that Alwyn may appear at a later date.
