The Office won’t be the same without the prank-loving paper salesman we all know and love.
John Krasinski, who played the role of Jim Halpert, visited The Ellen DeGeneres Show where he revealed that he’s still waiting for an invitation to join the rumored revival.
Â
When asked about the reboot, Krasinski mentioned he was aware of the plans but stated he hasn’t heard from the network. “Guess who didn’t get a call? Me. What does that say? NBC’s like, ‘You know who we didn’t like? Jim.'”
“They wouldn’t do it without you,” DeGeneres reassured the actor.
“Well, it looks like they are. I haven’t gotten a call yet,” Krasinski said. “I was just looking for a phone. Imagine if they were like, ‘Will you?’ And I’m like, ‘Let’s suit up.'”
But all hope of seeing Jim and Pam (Jenna Fischer) back together isn’t completely lost. When DeGeneres asked Krasinski if he’d be willing to come back, his answer was a definite yes. “Oh my god, are you kidding? I’d love to get that gang back together,” he told her.
According to TV Line, the network hopes to revive the hit mockumentary series for the 2018-2019 season featuring a combination of returning cast members from the original series as well as new cast members. Sadly, Steve Carrell (everyone’s favorite boss: Michael Scott) who had left The Office in season 7 will not be involved in the new series.
Hopefully, we’ll get more news on the reboot soon!
