Kacey Musgraves Is A Horse Girl In The Teaser For Her Upcoming New Era

KM5 is coming, and suddenly, I’m in my healing era. Kacey Musgraves gave me the best birthday present ever: a new era. On Feb. 3, Musgraves dropped a cryptic photo of her lying naked in a field on her social media accounts. Fans speculated a new era was coming, and they were right. On Grammys night, Feb. 4, Musgraves released a teaser video on social media. It’s giving horse girl meets Taylor Swift’s folklore, and I’m already obsessed.

At the 2024 Grammys, the singer won Best Country Duo/Group Performance for her feature on Zach Bryan’s “I Remember Everything.” She then presented the Best Country Album award, and looked amazing doing so. Musgraves wore a beautiful black ensemble with a slit and beaded detailing. After she presented the award, her new era was teased during a commercial break. The commercial was soon uploaded online. During the 30-second clip, Musgraves wanders around in nature surrounded by geese, birds, and of course, horses. She grabs a hold of a beam of light and sings the video’s title, “My Saturn Has Returned.” The video concludes with her posing, and a link to her website.

When you go to Musgraves’ website, the cursor is a light, which makes me think that theme is a big part of the new era. It wouldn’t be the first time, with her song “there is a light” from her 2021 album star-crossed, being all about it. Of course, the Saturn reference also makes me think of her Grammy award-winning album, Golden Hour. You can also pre-order the vinyl, CD, and cassette on the singer’s website and sign up for notifications.

A Musgraves renaissance is coming, and I’m so ready for it. She posted two new photos with new lyrics. One image of her holding a guitar in an outfit with horses on it is captioned, “I’m saying goodbye to the people I feel are really good at wasting my time. No regrets, baby, I just think that maybe you go your way and I’ll go mine.” She’s protecting her peace like that guitar, and I love that for her.

Musgraves then posted a picture of two sheep captioned, “It’s been a real good time. But, you’ve got dark energy, something I can’t unsee, and I’ve got to take care of myself.” Finally, on Instagram, the commercial video is captioned, “I found a deeper well.” Rewatching the video, I feel like I’m channeling the Kim Kardashian pilgrim meme. I’m revived, refreshed, and renewed. Thank you, Ms. Musgraves.

All in all, Grammys night was a pretty successful night for Musgraves fans. We got a Grammy win, a new album announcement, and a picture of her with BeyoncĂ©. I’ve grown up listening to Musgraves, and over a decade later, getting a new album announcement from her on music’s biggest night just felt so right. Hopefully, she will continue to get the recognition she deserves at the next year’s show and secure more awards.
