Kanye Wants You to Stop Obsessing Over His Feud With Taylor Swift

It seems like there’s constantly something new going on in the feud between Kanye West and Taylor Swift. While Kanye was at Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday, paparazzi tried to add further fuel to the fire by asking him about Swift, particularly if the singer should show him more respect. However, Kanye’s reaction was calm, to our surprise, as he simply said he “wants the best for that person.”

The feud started when he dropped his seventh studio album, The Life of Pablo, last week. In his song “Famous,” Kanye raps, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous / God damn / I made that bitch famous.”

Several days after Kanye’s album release, Taylor took her Grammy win for Album of the Year as an opportunity to diss the rapper. “I want to say to all the young women out there — there are going to be people along the way who are going to try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame,” the singer said in her acceptance speech in reference to Kanye. “But if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you’re going, you’ll look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there.”

While Kanye seems to have no intention of apologizing for the lyrics, he denies animosity between him and Swift. Rather, he thinks the media has blown the feud out of proportion. “It’s like, I want the best for that person, but there’s people going through real issues out here,” the T.L.O.P. rapper stated. “I don’t think people care about me or her in that way. People care about their families, their kids. If you like my music, listen to it. If you like her music, listen to it.”

Does this mark the end of this war of words, or will Taylor fire back at Kanye yet again? We’ll have to wait and see.
