Kendall Jenner’s $27K Fur Coat Has Anti-Fur Activists Calling Her Out On Instagram

It’s never a dull moment when it comes to the Kardashian Jenners. Just days after North West made headlines for her viral “Miss Westie” song, Kendall Jenner is now being talked about online — and not in a good way.

On Dec. 19, Kendall Jenner posted a photo to Instagram of her sporting a massive brown and black fur coat while in Aspen to promote her tequila brand 818. The coat is a $27k hand-painted brown shearling coat from the designer Phoebe Philo. It is made of 100% shearling, which is the skin of a lamb with wool.

Jenner recently made headlines due to her alleged breakup with Latin singer, Bad Bunny, so of course, fans were already scoping out the model’s social media to see if she would respond to the news. But to their surprise, she instead shared photos of her donning a fur coat, which didn’t sit well with anti-fur activists. They’ve since swarmed Jenner’s comments to out for her fashion choice. I just have one word: Oof.

Many comments blatantly expressed disgust towards the model’s coat, with Instagram users commenting with GIFs of animals locked in cages and saying that the coat she’s wearing is a “death coat.” Some fans of Bad Bunny even took to the comments to show their dismay by telling Jenner to “leave the bunnies alone, dead or alive”.

Anti-fur activists are known for their overt protests, especially when it comes to celebs. For example in 2015, animal rights activists blocked Lady Gaga’s SUV in New York City since she was famously known for her fur coats. That same year, animal rights activists also crashed Jenner’s sister, Kim Kardashian’s book signing to call her out for wearing fur. Since then, Kim has had her fur garments remade into faux-fur duplicates. Now that Jenner has been seen wearing fur, these activists did not hold back when calling her out.

Since sharing the post on Instagram, fans have shown disappointment over Jenner choosing to wear a fur coat given her love for animals and owning a own ranch. She also did a campaign with Stella McCartney, which is committed to producing vegan and cruelty-free products.

As of this publication, Jenner hasn’t responded to the comments about her fur coat and continues to post on her Instagram Story like normal.
